In other news, we were walking down Franklin St. tonight when the sole of my shoe fell off. That, as they say, was unexpected. For reasons not interesting enough to detail here, I actually had a spare shoe for that pair. Alas, it was a spare right shoe and the sole fell off the left shoe. If anyone local would care to recommended a good shoe repair place, please feel free.
Begging to differ: the reason is definitely interesting enough, whatever it is.
Sorry I have no tips for shoe repair but will say that I've always been pleased when I've had a pair fixed instead of replaced.

When Sarah bought me this pair of shoes, they arrived as 2 right shoes. The company quickly sent a left one & was supposed to have the extra right one picked up by UPS. But after it sat at the mail center for several weeks (and reminders to the co.) w/ no pickup, the mail center asked us to take it away.
I did tell you that it wasn't that interesting...
