Sad news, everybody. Turns out there will not be internecine political warfare on Staten Island. The Libertarians saw fit not to offer their spot on the ballot to Francis Powers, Jr. He's the son of Francis Powers, Sr. who's running as a Republican for the seat now opened up by the hasty departure of Vito "Cheating Bastard" Fossella. I guess the Libertarians were looking for more of a platform from Powers, Jr. than "fucking with my old man's chance of getting elected." Too bad. That would've been some of the best fun on SI since the fantabulous days of NYC secession.
