Tonight we stumbled upon the discovery that the cable music channel "Sounds of the Seasons" (which plays Xmas music during the holidays) is, at least for now, the downtempo channel. Okay, it's not called the downtempo channel, but that's what it is. In the last half hour or so I've heard Tosca, Orbital, St. Etienne, Morcheeba, Moby, and Tweaker. Plus a bunch of downtempo (and nu jazz, ambient, illbient, dubtronica, acid jazz and etc allied sub-genres) that I've not heard before. Best artist name so far: Mr. Electric Triangle.
