Today, in the second year of the campaign, I was finally able to declare victory over the stump of doom (battered remnants seen to the right). If it can recover from that, it's some kind of zombie shrub and I'm heading for the hills.
So, yeah, it was mostly a yardwork weekend. Did make a celebrity sighting at the farmer's market yesterday. Saw 2004 World Series of Poker champ Greg Raymer. At first I was somewhat confused (what is a professional poker player doing shopping for plants in Raleigh?) but then I remembered reading that he was living in the area -- probably in the N&O around the time of last year's WSOP. Did not go up and bug him, which is generally my approach to celebs I pass in the streets or shops or whatever.
