The other night I watched the Japanese movie Black Test Car. I'd somehow gotten the impression that it was a Tokyo Drifter-style mod action flick involving spies and fast cars set in 60s Japan. Actually, it's a dark, twisty tale of industrial espionage and personal corruption/redemption set against a backdrop of the Japanese auto industry. Reminded me a lot of this Kurosawa police drama I saw a few years ago (Stray Dog? I should look it up but I'm tired). So, not at all what I was expecting but very good.
