Just about four hours until the first match of Copa Mundial kicks off, w/ Germany v. Costa Rica. I'm sure the Germans will win as they're favored to. But, go Ticos! Who wouldn't want to see the tournament start out with some upset special. Well, apart from millions of Germans. Barring a hellafied day at work I should be able to make it home to see the second half of Poland v. Ecuador.

Contrast to the England win - Germany played with confidence but kept playing hard - GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL Nederland!!!!!!!! - sorry for the interruption - while England deliberately only played well enough to preserve a 1-0 final. Soca Warriors will stomp those nancy boys into a mudhole and walk it dry, then tie Paraguay and advance. Germany looks pretty dominant after one game. Argentina is the only team to come close to such a performance so far.
