bloody vikings!

Two things for a grey misty day:
1) for breakfast this AM (after trying 2 other local estabs where no seating at all was to be had -- damn holiday weekends when the weather gets all Seattle on our asses), I went to Mad Hatter. Had the french toast. Yum. Not just challah french toast with mixed berries on top, but challah french toast stuffed with cream cheese with mixed berries on top.
2) my favorite recent email sp@m names -- Override L. Pantomime and Herbicide A. Gecko

oh man, i love challah french toast. i should get challah next weekend and make some! thank you for the inspiration.

Herbicide A. Gecko must be stopped!

I have never had any luck getting seating at Mad Hatter's on an ordinary weekend, not to mention a holiday one. So what happens is you order your food and then it's ready but you have to stand there holding a plate because every table is taken up with folks camped out with books or laptops, who have no intention of leaving anytime soon. So you're stuck with a plate of food and a drink with nowhere to eat or drink it. Does Mad Hatter's want to be a coffeehouse or a restaurant? I think they should make up their minds. As a result of their indecision I flipping hate the place--except for their decorated cookies.

Thanks for lending me your blog comments to rant in!

Mad Hatter's not usually my 1st choice cos the food's just not as good as it thinks it is. In other words, it looks good on the menu, less so on the plate. Altho it's usually crowded, I've never had a problem finding a table (possibly because I don't go all that much). I only ended up there over the weekend because both Guglhupf and Foster's were completely packed.
