BBC did a poll to come up with 50 things you should eat before you die.** I note, with a mix of pleasure and alarm, that there's only 6 things on the list I haven't tried. I'm giving them the Australian meat pie -- I've certainly eaten meat pies and I have no idea what's so special about pies from Australia. Fortunately most of the remaining 5 are obscure enough that it's unlikely I'll be able to woof them down next week and then keel over, mission accomplished. I can't tell if it's rather a lame list or if I'm just such a foodie reprobate that it seems uninteresting to me.

there were 12 things on the list I hadn't eaten. Many of them (haggis, durian, guinea pig) I am comfortably certain I will never eat.
i haven't eaten a lot of those things--at least partially b/c 15 of them aren't kosher.
it's kind of a weird list though. like, who hasn't had pizza or ice cream or pancakes?
ho! is "american diner breakfast" available elsewhere? i always thought that foreigners just don't get hungover.
given some of the things on that list, it should perhaps be titled "50 things to eat that will cause you to die."
either that or they should include the phrase "(not all at once)".
oops, i missed the moreton bay bugs (some sort of aussie crustacean) so that's actually 7 i haven't tried.
but now i have this vision of "american diners" all over the UK that are almost-but-not-exactly like actual diners -- just like all those fakey irish pubs all over the US
Hey, does this mean if we DON'T eat all 50 we won't die? 'Cause I sure as heck won't be eating any haggis anytime soon.
